Satisfied?

Feeling uneasy?  A feeling is a strong inner sensation. Feelings can be positive or negative.  If negative, the feeling can lead one toward feeling despair.

To move beyond despair.  Recognize and acknowledge the feeling. Address the feeling at the beginning rather letting it spiral into deeper despair.

Create a healthy response to the uneasy feeling.

Center.

Focus your attention.

Repeat this mantra – I am the creator of my life.  I am responsible for taking the action to get what I need.

Go to the My Life needs list. My Life Needs

Choose a need that requires immediate attention in your life right now.

Identify actions that can be taken to meet the need.

Choose one small action step you can take to move you toward meeting that need.

Take an action.

Stay focused on taking one action step at a time to move toward fulfilling that need.  Take one small step. Then take another action step.  Then another.

Taking a positive action toward filling a life need that needs attention will move you toward feeling satisfied and away from falling downward into the state of being where you feel despair (deep dissatisfaction).

If it is difficult keeping attention focused on taking the action to fill the need,

  • recognize when you are moving forward and making progress toward fulfillthe need and when you are becoming distracted
  • recognize that you might need someone to reason things out with when you get distracted or don’t know what to do
  • find someone you can text or call at the point when you do not know what to do next or you are tempted to go in a “not so good” direction
  • call that person before you make a “not so good choice”, not after.  Calling after does not interrupt the pattern.

Outside support can guide us in choosing to keep our attention focused on taking the next step to fill our need.
