About Me

Hi! I’m Esther – Resource Management Consultant. Join me as we address issues related to substance abuse and how it impacts our personal lives.
I have been a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certificant since the late 1980s and a certified addiction counselor since 2007. I taught personal financial management at the University of Georgia and Kansas State University; sold financial products and had a fee-only financial planning practice.
I have worked as an addiction counselor in many different types of settings. I did an internship at a hospital recovery center; served as an individual and group counselor at an intensive outpatient treatment center and residential treatment center; and completed the beginning and advanced Prime Solutions certifications for providing substance abuse education in Level – I treatment programs in Georgia.
My BS degree is from the University of Georgia, MS from the University of Tennessee, Ph.D. from Purdue University, and Certificate in Addiction and Prevention Studies from Allen Community College in Kansas.
In 2018, I was privileged to be selected as a University of Georgia Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) 100 Centennial 1918 – 2018 Honoree. One-hundred individuals were recognized for contributing strength, conviction, and commitment in shaping FACS programs since the program was founded in 1918.
